SOW A SEED OF LOVE, HARVEST TOGETHER

Photos of beneficiaries helped by Sowers FundEstablished in 2011, Sowers Fund helps underprivileged families break the cycle of poverty.

Our mission is rooted in the teachings of Jesus, and our aim is to bring an end to poverty by helping low-income individuals become self-sufficient and independent. For many, access to traditional banking services is limited, and acquiring a loan or borrowing money can be difficult.

Sowers Fund provides monetary grants to qualified beneficiaries to start their own small, income-generating businesses – something to help them earn a daily wage.  We also provide applicants with financial literacy training and tools to help them succeed.

Our program  is deeply rooted in key Christian principles such as stewardship, which go a long way in establishing true long-term sustainable economic development and stability.

Our beneficiaries include farmers, seamstresses, hairdressers, garment traders, mechanics, photographers, and many other trades. Some are located in cities, most are found in rural areas, and about 70% of them are women. To date, the program has supported over 230 applicants, and operates in 18 countries: Sierra Leone, Togo, Ghana, Congo, Jamaica, Malawi, Uganda, Kenya, Nigeria, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Haiti, Honduras, Ivory Coast and Tanzania.

Successful beneficiaries are encouraged to help others in their communities by reinvesting in their business, and supporting them through employment or trade. In doing so, they “harvest together” the seeds that have been sown.
