Considered one of the poorest nations in the world, Malawi is located in southeast Africa and is often plagued with extreme rain conditions that cause long enduring droughts and dangerous land flooding.

However, given the fertile land, the Malawi government provided its citizens free land to cultivate maize crops. Although an important first step, most Malawians still have no money for seed and fertilizer, and have been unable to take advantage of this offer.

Thanks to the generous donors of the Sowers Fund, eight individuals from the Dedza region of Malawi received the much-needed funding to purchase seeds, fertilizer and equipment. They started tilling the land last fall and were able to harvest 25 bags of maize each weighing 50kgs.

With the help of our donors, healing has finally begun.
