Nearly 81.2% of Togo’s rural population lives under the global poverty line. For Simeon and his family, their struggle to stay above this line was a daily worry. Married with four daughters to provide for, he did whatever he could to bring in an income.
Despite his struggles, Simeon had a flair for business, and was keen to get into the photography and videography business — a booming industry in Togo where customers spare no expense in capturing their special events.
Simeon registered his Photography & Videography agency and hired a small team, working out of his home. However, investing in equipment rather than borrowing them, was critical for him to stay out of debt. This is where Sowers Fund comes in. With funding provided by our donors, Simeon and Priscelle were able to purchase cameras for their business and are delighted to finally start bringing home a regular income.
